Shalini Randeria
Pandemie der Ungleichheiten
India / Austria / Switzerland
In creating a global health crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic has revealed our individual and social vulnerability and interdependence. Yet, different people are affected by the pandemic in different ways – depending on where they live, how they earn their living and what access to medical care they have. Social anthropologist Shalini Randeria takes a close look at socio-economic, age-related and gender-related inequalities. In her lecture, she focuses on questions of global solidarity in view of vaccine shortages and an ecologically unbalanced world. (mr)
