Nashilongweshipwe Mushaandja & Tschuku Tschuku
Ondaanisa yo Pomudhime (The Dance of the Rubber Tree)
Republic of Namibia
The performer, theatre theorist and musician Nashilongweshipwe Mushaandja presents two works at this year’s festival. The sound performance «Ondaanias yo Pomudhime (The Dance of the Rubber Tree)» is the result of his long-term research on restitution. It reveals sounds from archives and collections and makes them accessible for the future of new generations. The work is presented again as a Collective Listening. «Zilin», a concert with his band Tschuku Tschuku, pursues a similar intent: to restitute forgotten sounds to new audiences. (mvh)
