«I’m a dancer, my body is my fighting instrument!», says Edna Jaime, dancer and choreographer from Mozambique. In this energetic performance, she fights for social justice in her country. «The Good Fight», accompanied by percussionist Francisco Macuvele, focuses on Mozambique’s working class – on artisans, on cleaning and nursing staff and on the often unpaid care work of women. With a movement vocabulary based on traditional and contemporary dances, Edna Jaime lashes out at an exploitative system in precise, multifaceted and moving ways. (rb)
