Not Standing in Place – Guided Tours

To remember, watch, question. 14 monuments in text form on the Landiwiese invite the spectator to reflect on our contemporaneity. 14 international artists, following an invitation by visual artist Vlatka Horvat and theatre-maker Tim Etchells, have sent sketches for imagined monuments to Zurich to be realised on the Landiwiese. The result is a parcours of billboards referring to non-existing monuments. Scientist, artist and DJ Yara Dulac Gisler and performance-maker and musician Phil Hayes guide us through this parcours on six evenings and reveal their personal interpretations of the monuments. What does it mean to speak about monuments that are non-existing and what reactions do monuments in general trigger? What do those works by artists they have never met convey to them? (ll)
